He talks, trains and consults widely throughout Europe in the field of technology commercialization. He chairs the Professional Recognition panel for the worldwide ‘Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals’ (ATTP). Before joining UCL, he was Technical Marketing Manager at Hoechst Celanese Corporation in New Jersey and prior to that, Photonics Research Manager at General Electric. His first degree was in physics and he holds a Ph.D. in thin-film photonics (UCL) and an MBA from London Business School.

Loredana Guglielmetti, is the Director of the "Patents" Division of the General Directorate for the Protection of Industrial Property - Italian Patent and Trademark Office of the Ministry of Economic Development. She is responsible for procedures granting national patents and European patent validations in Italy, and coordinates various projects for the promotion of patent culture and its enhancement. She is also responsible of the thematic websites: site of biotechnological inventions and life sciences and the observatory on patents of universities and public research offices, Patiris.

Msc in Industrial Biotechnology followed by a PhD in Business and Management awarded by the Università degli Studi di Torino. Since 2007 he has been working at the Politecnico di Torino dealing with innovation, technology transfer and high-tech start-up creation. Since 2016 he has been board member at Netval and is appointed as Netval representative within the ASTP Knowledge Transfer Europe National Associations Advisory Committee and as a Council Member within ATTP (Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals). He is a LES member, where is also Vice-chair within the International University-Industry-Government Transaction Committee.
